  19. I am considering buying an HP DeskJet 850C colour printer to be used
  20. with an Amiga and Emplant and am wondering about printer drivers on
  21. the Amiga side.  I know about the Studio II and TurboPrint drivers
  22. that are available but would also like to know how it would work 
  23. with say Post, the Amiga postscript interpreter, or other older
  24. DeskJet drivers that are available on the Amiga.

  26. I am looking for any information or experience people have with
  27. respect to using the HP 850C printer with these older printer
  28. drivers. For some years I have happily used Post to print postscript
  29. output, mostly from PageStream, to a DeskJet 500. I would like to
  30. retain this option to use Post, mostly because of the fonts I seem
  31. to use and the compatability with output from other postscript
  32. printers at work.

  34. Will an 850C except the output from say Postlj, and print b&w 300 dpi
  35. pages correctly? (I think I use Postlj rather than Postdj because I
  36. found it easier to set the page postioning long ago). Does it print
  37. ordinary 300 dpi black and white in this situation without any
  38. problems? This would mean that the new printer is compatible with
  39. the older printer in some way and at least then older programmes like
  40. Post could still be used. I would be grateful if anyone could
  41. experiment with this even just with different Preference printer drivers.
